RD 723/2026: clearer written information on employment conditions

From 5 October 2026, employers must provide more detailed written information before employment begins. The rules cover the role, fixed and variable pay, working time, shifts, holidays, probation, training, automated decision systems, equality measures, termination, the applicable collective agreement and Social Security coverage.

New and changed contracts

The information may appear in the employment contract or in separate accessible documents. Changes must be communicated no later than the day they take effect, and the employer must retain proof of delivery.

Existing employment relationships

Employees whose relationship was already in force when the Royal Decree entered into effect may request the information. The employer must provide it within thirty working days if the employee does not already have it.
